Summary

CVE-2023-34461 is a vulnerability affecting the PyBB bulletin board server version 0.1.0. The vulnerability allows users with posting privilege to submit HTML tags that can run arbitrary code on the client side, potentially leading to cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. The issue has been patched in commit `5defd92`, and users are advised to upgrade to version 0.1.1. Alternatively, users unable to upgrade can mitigate the risk by removing the ability to create posts, removing the `|safe` tag from the "post.html" Jinja2 template, or manually validating links during post creation.
