Summary
CVE-2023-34458 is a vulnerability affecting mx-chain-go, the official golang implementation of the MultiversX blockchain protocol. When processing relayed transactions, if an inner transaction failed, the sender account nonce would be inadvertently increased. This issue could be exploited in limited Denial of Service (DoS) attacks against targeted accounts. The vulnerability was resolved in version 1.4.17 through a breaking change that introduced the new flag `RelayedNonceFixEnableEpoch`. This processing error occurred during block validation on the chain.
