Summary

CVE-2023-34139 is a command injection vulnerability in the Free Time WiFi hotspot feature of the Zyxel USG FLEX series firmware versions 4.50 through 5.36 Patch 2 and VPN series firmware versions 4.20 through 5.36 Patch 2. This vulnerability could allow an unauthenticated, LAN-based attacker to execute some OS commands on an affected device. The vulnerability has a base severity rating of HIGH with a base score of 8.8 according to NIST's National Vulnerability Database (NVD). The potential danger it poses to an organization is significant, as it could lead to unauthorized access and control over the affected device, potentially compromising sensitive data or allowing for further attacks within the network.
