Summary

CVE-2023-34098 is a vulnerability in the Shopware open-source e-commerce software. The vulnerability arises from an incorrect configuration in the `.htaccess` file, which allows attackers to read the configuration file of the Javascript in production environments (`themes/package-lock.json`). This information can be leveraged by an attacker to determine the specific version of Shopware being used, potentially leading to further attacks. To mitigate this vulnerability, users are advised to update their Shopware installations to version 5.7.18. There are currently no known workarounds for this issue. The vulnerability is rated as medium severity with a CVSS score of 5.3, posing a potential risk to organizations using affected versions of Shopware.
