Summary

CVE-2023-33972 is a vulnerability affecting Scylladb, a NoSQL data store compatible with Apache Cassandra. Authenticated users with CREATE privileges in a keyspace can exploit this vulnerability to escalate their privileges and access tables in the same keyspace, even without proper permissions. Currently, there is no patch available for this issue. However, organizations can mitigate the risk by disabling CREATE privileges on the affected keyspace and creating new tables on behalf of other users. This vulnerability has a high severity rating and poses a potential danger to organizations as it can lead to unauthorized access and compromise of sensitive data.
