Summary

The vulnerability CVE-2023-3369 affects the About Me 3000 widget plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 2.2.6. It is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability that occurs due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the admin settings of the plugin. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, which will execute when accessed by users. However, this vulnerability only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled. To remediate this issue, users should update the plugin to a version that includes a fix for the vulnerability. The potential danger posed to organizations is that attackers can exploit this vulnerability to execute malicious scripts on affected websites, potentially leading to unauthorized access, data theft, or further compromise of the WordPress installation.
