Summary

The vulnerability with the CVE ID CVE-2023-33466 affects Orthanc versions prior to 1.12.0. It allows authenticated users with access to the Orthanc API to overwrite arbitrary files on the file system, which can be exploited to trigger Remote Code Execution (RCE). In specific deployment scenarios, the attacker can also overwrite the configuration. This vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it has a severity score of 8.8 according to [email protected], indicating a high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. To remediate this vulnerability, organizations should update their Orthanc software to version 1.12.0 or above.
