Summary

CVE-2023-3329 is a vulnerability in SpiderControl SCADA Webserver versions 2.08 and earlier, categorized as CWE-22 (Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory). It allows an attacker with administrative privileges to overwrite files on the webserver through the HMI's upload file feature, potentially creating size zero files in any location on the webserver. This can lead to the overwriting of system files and result in a denial-of-service condition. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 6.5 (Medium severity) and requires high privileges for exploitation. There have been 119 reported instances of this vulnerability.
