Summary

CVE-2023-3249 is a vulnerability affecting the Web3 – Crypto wallet Login & NFT token gating plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 2.6.0. The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers to bypass authentication and log in as any existing user on the site, including administrators, if they have access to the username. This is due to incorrect authentication checking in the 'hidden_form_data' function. The vulnerability has a base severity score of 9.8 out of 10 and poses a high risk to organizations as it can lead to unauthorized access and compromise of sensitive data. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update to the latest version of the plugin as soon as it becomes available.
