Summary
CVE-2023-3222 is a vulnerability in the password recovery mechanism of the Password Recovery plugin for Roundcube version 1.2. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to change the password of an existing user by adding a 6-digit numeric token. The platform does not have a limit on the number of requests, making it possible for an attacker to create an automated script to test all possible values. The vulnerability has a base severity rating of HIGH and a base score of 7.5 according to the CVSS:3.1 scoring system. It poses a high risk to organizations as it can lead to unauthorized access and compromise of user accounts.
