Summary

CVE-2023-3193 is a Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability found in the Layout module's SEO configuration in Liferay Portal 7.4.3.70 through 7.4.3.73 and Liferay DXP 7.4 update 70 through 73. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the `_com_liferay_layout_admin_web_portlet_GroupPagesPortlet_backURL` parameter. The affected products include Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP versions mentioned above. To remediate this vulnerability, organizations should update their Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP installations to versions that are not affected by this issue. The potential danger of this vulnerability is that it allows attackers to execute malicious code on the affected system, potentially leading to unauthorized access, data theft, or further compromise of the organization's network and resources.
