Summary
CVE-2023-30581: This vulnerability allows bypassing Node.js policy mechanism when using __proto__ in process.mainModule.__proto__.require(). This issue enables the loading of modules outside the defined policy.json, impacting all users with the experimental policy feature in Node.js versions 16, 18, and 20. At the time of this CVE's disclosure, the policy mechanism was considered an experimental feature of Node.js.
