Summary

CVE-2023-29156 is an information loss vulnerability affecting the DroneScout ds230 Remote ID receiver from BlueMark Innovations. This vulnerability allows an attacker to inject spoofed Open Drone ID (ODID) messages, causing the receiver to drop real Remote ID (RID) information and transmit crafted RID information instead. This issue affects DroneScout ds230 in default configuration from firmware version 20211210-1627 through 20230329-1042. The potential danger of this vulnerability is that the MQTT broker, typically operated by a system integrator, will have no access to the drones' genuine RID information. The base severity of this vulnerability is rated as MEDIUM with a base score of 4.7 according to [email protected].
