Summary

CVE-2023-27868 is a vulnerability affecting IBM Db2 JDBC Driver for Db2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows versions 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5. It allows a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system by exploiting an unchecked class instantiation when providing plugin classes. By sending a specially crafted request using the named pluginClassName class, an attacker can exploit this vulnerability. The vulnerability has a risk score of 66 and is categorized as medium severity. It requires low privileges and does not require any user interaction. The attack vector is through the network, and the impact on integrity and confidentiality is low. IBM X-Force ID for this vulnerability is 249516. To remediate the issue, users should update their IBM Db2 JDBC Driver to a patched version provided by IBM.
