Summary

CVE-2023-27395 is a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability found in the vpnserver WpcParsePacket() functionality of SoftEther VPN versions 4.41-9782-beta, 5.01.9674, and 5.02. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted network packet, which could result in arbitrary code execution. The affected products are SoftEther VPN versions 4.41-9782-beta, 5.01.9674, and 5.02. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update their SoftEther VPN installations to the latest version available from the vendor. This vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on affected systems, potentially leading to unauthorized access and compromise of sensitive information.
