Summary

CVE-2023-26431 is a cyber vulnerability affecting multiple products, including r_8QfS, r_8QfR, and r_8QfQ. This vulnerability occurs when IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses are not recognized as "local" by the code, allowing attackers with user account access to bypass deny-list functionality. By exploiting this vulnerability, attackers can trigger requests to restricted network infrastructure, gaining insight into the organization's topology and running services. To remediate this vulnerability, the code has been updated to respect possible IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses when checking if they are contained in a deny-list. Although no publicly available exploits are known at this time, this vulnerability poses a potential danger to organizations as it could lead to unauthorized access and compromise of sensitive information.
