Summary

CVE-2023-2638: Rockwell Automation's FactoryTalk System Services has a vulnerability where it does not verify if a backup configuration archive is password protected. This can lead to improper authorization and the loading of malicious configuration archives. The vulnerability affects the FTSSBackupRestore.exe component. An authenticated non-admin user can exploit this vulnerability by creating a malicious backup archive without password protection, which will be accepted as a valid backup during a restore procedure.
