Summary

CVE-2023-2620 is a vulnerability discovered in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions starting from 15.1 prior to 15.11.10, all versions from 16.0 prior to 16.0.6, and all versions from 16.1 prior to 16.1.1. This vulnerability allows a maintainer to manipulate a webhook URL and leak masked webhook secrets by manipulating other masked portions. It should be noted that this vulnerability is an incomplete fix for CVE-2023-0838. The potential danger it poses to an organization is considered medium, with a base score of 5.5 according to CVSS:3.1 standards, and it requires high privileges to exploit. To remediate this vulnerability, organizations are advised to update their GitLab CE/EE instances to versions 15.11.10, 16.0.6, or 16.1.1 or later versions where the issue has been resolved.
