Summary

CVE-2023-25111 is a high-severity vulnerability that affects the Milesight UR32L v32.3.0.5 product. The vulnerability is caused by multiple buffer overflow flaws in the vtysh_ubus binary, which uses an unsafe sprintf pattern. An attacker with high privileges can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted HTTP request, leading to arbitrary code execution. The buffer overflow occurs in the set_gre function with the key variable. This vulnerability poses a significant danger to organizations as it allows remote attackers to gain control over affected systems and potentially compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. To remediate this issue, users are advised to update their Milesight UR32L devices to a secure version.
