Summary

CVE-2023-25085 is a vulnerability that affects the Milesight UR32L v32.3.0.5 product. It is caused by multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities in the vtysh_ubus binary due to the use of an unsafe sprintf pattern. An attacker with high privileges can exploit these vulnerabilities by sending a specially crafted HTTP request, leading to arbitrary code execution. The buffer overflow occurs in the firewall_handler_set function with the index and to_dst variables. The vulnerability has a base severity rating of HIGH and poses a potential danger to organizations as it can result in unauthorized code execution, compromising the integrity and confidentiality of the affected system. To remediate this vulnerability, users should update their Milesight UR32L product to a patched version that addresses the buffer overflow vulnerabilities.
