Summary
CVE-2023-25083 is a high-severity vulnerability that affects the Milesight UR32L v32.3.0.5 product. This vulnerability is caused by multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities in the vtysh_ubus binary due to the use of an unsafe sprintf pattern. An attacker with high privileges can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted HTTP request, leading to arbitrary code execution. The buffer overflow occurs in the firewall_handler_set function with the ip and mac variables. Organizations using this product should apply the necessary patches or updates provided by the vendor to remediate this vulnerability and prevent potential unauthorized code execution and compromise of integrity and confidentiality of their systems.
