Summary

CVE-2023-24590 is a format string vulnerability found in the optional diagnostic web interface of Gallagher Controller 6000. This vulnerability allows an attacker to write or read from memory and potentially crash the Controller 6000, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) attack. The affected versions include Gallagher Controller 6000 8.60 prior to vCR8.60.231116a (distributed in 8.60.2550 (MR7)), as well as all versions of 8.50 and prior. To remediate this issue, users are advised to update the affected software to a version that includes the necessary security patch. This vulnerability poses a high risk to organizations as it can be exploited remotely over a network without requiring any privileges, potentially leading to unauthorized access and compromise of sensitive information on the affected system.
