Summary

CVE-2023-23764 is an incorrect comparison vulnerability found in GitHub Enterprise Server versions 3.7.0 and above. This vulnerability allows commit smuggling by displaying an incorrect diff within the GitHub pull request UI. The attacker would require write access to the repository to exploit this vulnerability. It was reported via the GitHub Bug Bounty program and has been fixed in versions 3.7.9, 3.8.2, and 3.9.1 of the software. The vulnerability has a base severity rating of HIGH according to [email protected], with a base score of 7.1 out of 10, indicating a significant potential danger to organizations using affected versions of GitHub Enterprise Server.
