Summary

CVE-2023-22656 is a vulnerability affecting Intel(R) Media SDK and certain Intel(R) oneVPL software versions prior to 23.3.5. An authenticated user can exploit this out-of-bounds read issue to potentially gain elevated privileges through local access, posing a significant security risk. The vulnerability allows attackers to read memory outside of the intended bounds, which could reveal sensitive information or allow for code injection, resulting in privilege escalation. Intel has released patches to address this issue, and users are strongly encouraged to update their affected software as soon as possible to mitigate the risk.
