Summary

CVE-2023-22017 is a vulnerability in the Oracle VM VirtualBox product of Oracle Virtualization, affecting versions prior to 6.1.46 and 7.0.10. This vulnerability can be easily exploited by a low privileged attacker with logon access to the infrastructure where Oracle VM VirtualBox is running, potentially leading to unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (DOS) of the software. It should be noted that this vulnerability only applies to Windows virtual machines. The CVSS 3.1 Base Score for this vulnerability is 5.5, indicating availability impacts.
