Summary
CVE-2023-20592 is a vulnerability affecting some AMD CPUs. The INVD instruction exhibits improper behavior, which can be exploited by a malicious hypervisor. This issue may cause cache line write-back behavior to be affected, potentially leading to a loss of guest VM memory integrity. An attacker could leverage this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access or modify data within the VM environment. AMD is working on mitigations to address this issue and has advised users to ensure their hypervisors are up-to-date.
