Summary

CVE-2023-20206 is a vulnerability that affects multiple versions of Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) Software. It allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to conduct a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against a user of the web-based management interface. The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input by the interface. An attacker can exploit this by inserting crafted input into various data fields, potentially executing arbitrary script code or accessing sensitive information in the context of the interface. In some cases, it may also cause temporary availability issues in certain parts of the FMC Dashboard. To remediate this vulnerability, users should apply the necessary patches or updates provided by Cisco to address the issue and ensure proper input validation is implemented. This vulnerability poses a medium risk as it requires user interaction and can lead to unauthorized access and data manipulation within an organization's network infrastructure.
