Summary
CVE-2023-20202 is a denial of service vulnerability affecting the Wireless Network Control daemon (wncd) in Cisco IOS XE Software for Wireless LAN Controllers. An unauthenticated, adjacent attacker can exploit this issue by sending a series of malicious network requests, causing the wncd process to consume excessive memory. Once the memory is exhausted, the device reloads, resulting in a denial of service condition. This vulnerability arises due to improper memory management within the wncd component.
