Summary

CVE-2023-20185 is a vulnerability found in the Cisco ACI Multi-Site CloudSec encryption feature of Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Fabric Switches in ACI mode. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to read or modify intersite encrypted traffic. The vulnerability arises from an issue with the implementation of ciphers used by the CloudSec encryption feature on affected switches. The attacker can exploit this vulnerability by intercepting encrypted traffic between ACI sites and using cryptanalytic techniques to break the encryption. The potential danger of this vulnerability is that it enables unauthorized access to sensitive data transmitted between sites, compromising confidentiality and potentially leading to data manipulation. Cisco has not released any software updates to address this vulnerability at present.
