CVE-2023-20181 is a vulnerability that affects the web-based management interface of Cisco Small Business SPA500 Series IP Phones. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct XSS attacks by exploiting insufficient validation of user-supplied input. The attacker can execute arbitrary script code or access sensitive browser-based information by convincing a user to click on a crafted link. The vulnerability has a base severity rating of MEDIUM and a base score of 6.1 according to NIST's analysis. The potential danger it poses to an organization includes the risk of unauthorized access to sensitive information and the execution of malicious code within the affected interface.
