Summary

CVE-2023-20084 is a vulnerability found in the endpoint software of Cisco Secure Endpoint for Windows. It could potentially allow an authenticated, local attacker to bypass endpoint protection within a limited time window. The vulnerability occurs due to a timing issue between various software components. To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker needs to convince the user to place a malicious file in a specific folder and then execute it within the given time window. Successful exploitation could result in the endpoint software failing to quarantine the malicious file or terminate its process. This vulnerability is only applicable to deployments with the Windows Folder Redirection feature enabled.
