CVE-2023-20074 is a vulnerability that affects multiple versions of Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) Software. It allows an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) attack on the web-based management interface of an affected device. The vulnerability occurs due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input by the interface. An attacker can exploit this by inserting crafted input into various data fields, potentially executing arbitrary script code or accessing sensitive information in the context of the interface. It may also cause temporary availability issues with portions of the FMC Dashboard. The risk score is 25, indicating a medium severity level. To remediate this vulnerability, it is recommended to update to a fixed software version provided by Cisco.
