Summary

CVE-2023-20048 is a vulnerability in the web services interface of Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) Software. It can be exploited by an authenticated, remote attacker to execute unauthorized configuration commands on a Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) device managed by the FMC Software. The vulnerability is caused by insufficient authorization of configuration commands sent through the web service interface. To exploit it, an attacker needs valid credentials on the FMC Software. This vulnerability affects multiple products and can lead to potential danger for organizations, with a base severity rating of CRITICAL and a base score of 9.9 out of 10.
