Summary
CVE-2023-1780 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Companion Sitemap Generator plugin for WordPress. Before version 4.5.3, the plugin fails to sanitize and escape certain parameters, allowing an attacker to inject malicious scripts into pages. This issue poses a significant risk to high privilege users, including administrators, who can be manipulated into visiting a malicious page, potentially leading to unauthorized access or data theft.
