Summary

CVE-2020-3259 is a vulnerability in the web services interface of Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software. It could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to retrieve memory contents on an affected device, potentially leading to the disclosure of confidential information. The vulnerability is caused by a buffer tracking issue when parsing invalid URLs from the web services interface, and it can be exploited by sending a crafted GET request. Only specific AnyConnect and WebVPN configurations are affected. To remediate this vulnerability, organizations should apply the necessary patches or updates provided by Cisco.
