Summary

CVE-2025-32033 is a vulnerability affecting the Apollo Router Core, a high-performance graph router used in Apollo Federation 2 for federated supergraphs. Prior to version 1.61.2 and 2.1.1, the operation limits plugin employed unsigned 32-bit integers to manage limit counters, such as query height. If a counter surpassed the maximum value for this data type (4,294,967,295), it reverted to zero, inadvertently enabling queries to bypass configured thresholds. This issue could impact both large queries with elevated payload limits and smaller queries with deeply nested and reused named fragments. The vulnerability has been rectified in versions 1.61.2 and 2.1.1.
