Summary
CVE-2025-2933 is a vulnerability affecting the Email Notifications for Updates plugin for WordPress. The issue resides in the awun_import_settings() function, which lacks proper capability checks. This oversight allows authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level access or higher to modify arbitrary options on the WordPress site, potentially escalating privileges and updating default roles for registration to administrator. Consequently, attackers can gain administrative user access to a vulnerable site.
