Summary

CVE-2025-2761 is a remote code execution vulnerability affecting the GIMP software during the parsing of FLI files. The flaw arises from insufficient validation of user-supplied data, resulting in an out-of-bounds write. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by persuading users to visit malicious pages or open malicious files. Successful exploitation grants the attacker the ability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process. This vulnerability, originally identified as ZDI-CAN-25100, poses a significant risk to GIMP users if left unpatched.
