Summary
CVE-2025-27363 is a critical vulnerability affecting FreeType versions 2.13.0 and below. The issue arises when the software attempts to parse specific font structures, leading to an out-of-bounds write. A signed short value is incorrectly assigned to an unsigned long variable, resulting in buffer overflow. Subsequently, up to 6 signed long integers are written outside the allocated heap buffer. This vulnerability could potentially allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code and has been reportedly exploited in the wild.
