CVE-2025-26601

Summary

CVE-2025-26601 is a use-after-free vulnerability affecting X.Org and Xwayland. When altering alarms, the software evaluates each change in sequence, adjusting trigger values accordingly. If an error occurs during this process, the function prematurely terminates without adding the new sync object. Subsequently, when the alarm eventually activates, a use-after-free condition may occur, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the affected system. This flaw poses a serious risk to system security and requires immediate attention from users and administrators.
