Summary
CVE-2025-25306 is a vulnerability affecting Misskey, an open source, federated social media platform. The patch implemented for a previous vulnerability, CVE-2024-52591, did not properly validate the relationship between the `id` and `url` fields of ActivityPub objects. As a result, an attacker can manipulate an object's `url` field to falsely claim authority, bypassing the requirement for authority in the `id` field. Misskey's version 2025.2.1 release addresses this issue by implementing more robust validation checks.
