Summary
CVE-2025-24963 is a vulnerability affecting Vitest, a testing framework powered by Vite. The browser mode HTTP server, which responds to any file request through the `__screenshot-error` handler, is the source of the issue. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a remote request to the handler and gain access to arbitrary files on the affected system. This vulnerability was introduced by commit `2d62051` and affects users who expose the browser mode server to the network with `browser.api.host: true`. versions 2.1.9 and 3.0.4 have addressed this issue, and users are advised to upgrade as soon as possible. There are currently no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
