Summary
CVE-2025-24832 is a vulnerability affecting the Acronis Backup plugin and extension for cPanel & WHM and Plesk on Linux systems. The issue arises from improper symbolic link handling during home directory recovery, allowing an attacker to perform arbitrary file overwrites. Consequently, attackers can gain unauthorized access to sensitive data or modify critical system files. The vulnerability affects Acronis Backup plugin for cPanel & WHM versions before build 1.8.4.866 and 1.9.1.892, as well as the Acronis Backup extension for Plesk before build 1.8.7.615. System administrators are advised to upgrade to the latest versions to mitigate this risk.
