Details
Summary
CVE-2025-2482 is an unauthenticated Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Gotcha | Gesture-based Captcha plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 1.0.0 are susceptible to this issue due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the 'menu' parameter. Attackers can exploit this flaw by injecting arbitrary web scripts, which can execute in pages when a user performs a specific action, such as clicking on a maliciously crafted link. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it allows unauthenticated attackers to gain control over users' web sessions and steal sensitive data. Therefore, it is recommended that users immediately update their plugin to the latest version or disable it until a patch is available.
