Summary
CVE-2025-1689 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the ThemeMakers PayPal Express Checkout plugin for WordPress. This issue, occurring in versions up to and including 1.1.9, arises due to insufficient sanitization and output escaping of user-supplied attributes in the 'paypal' shortcode. Consequently, attackers with contributor-level access and above can inject malicious web scripts, which will execute when users visit injected pages. This vulnerability poses a significant security risk, allowing attackers to steal user data or take control of affected websites.
