Details
Summary
CVE-2025-1406 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Newpost Catch plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the plugin's npc shortcode, where user-supplied attributes are not properly sanitized or escaped, making it possible for attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever an end user accesses an injected page, causing potential harm such as data theft, account takeover, or website defacement. Users are advised to update the plugin to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
