Summary
CVE-2025-0837 is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Puzzles theme for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to 4.2.4, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within shortcodes. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions and above can inject malicious web scripts that execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it allows attackers to gain unauthorized access to user data or even take control of the affected website. It is strongly recommended that WordPress users upgrade to the latest version of the Puzzles theme to mitigate this threat.
