Summary

CVE-2024-9942: The Wordpress Gym Management System plugin, identified as WPGYM, contains a vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary files due to insufficient file type validation in the MJ_gmgt_user_avatar_image_upload() function. This vulnerability can lead to remote code execution if the uploaded file contains malicious code. The issue affects all versions of WPGYM up to and including 67.1.0. System administrators should update to the latest version or disable the plugin as a temporary measure to mitigate this risk.
