Summary
CVE-2024-9743 is a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Tungsten Automation Power PDF's PDF file parsing process. This issue permits remote code execution, allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. The flaw stems from inadequate validation of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length buffer. Exploitation of this vulnerability necessitates user interaction, such as visiting a malicious webpage or opening a malicious PDF file. This vulnerability, also known as ZDI-CAN-24459, poses a significant risk to systems utilizing Tungsten Automation Power PDF.
