Summary

CVE-2024-9729 is a remote code execution vulnerability affecting Trimble SketchUp Viewer. Malicious SKP files can be used to exploit this issue, which arises from the failure to validate the existence of an object before processing it. As a result, attackers can execute arbitrary code in the context of the current process, requiring user interaction, such as visiting a malicious webpage or opening a malicious file. The vulnerability, previously identified as ZDI-CAN-24144, was reported to Zero Day Initiative.
